The Road Less Traveled

There is the wide road used by most people of this world and there is the narrow way, the Road Less Traveled. This blog is about experiences, people and places on the narrow path. I lived and worked in North Africa for many years. That is my outer journey. But my inner journey is spiritual, global and universal. In 2012, I moved to the Golden Triangle region of SE Asia (Laos, Myanmar, Thailand). I have started a whole new adventure. Come join me on the Road Less Traveled. Without and within.

Fasting & Feasting

Ramadan is called the Muslim Fasting month.
This is true; no eating or drinking from sun-up to sun-down. No sex either.

Ramadan could also be called the feasting month.
This is true; everyone complains how expensive break-fast is, how everyone eats such delicacies such as dates, harira, shebakia pastries, eggs, coffee, etc. As soon as the sunsets, the feasting begins... break-fast, dinner, and the before-dawn meal.

More people are admitted to the hospital and have their stomachs pumped out during Ramadan than any other month.

All women and mothers talk before and during Ramadan is food.

It's an obsession.
