2 days ago, Lil was talking with some neighbors at the corner hanut (grocery store).
One lady cried, "There is going to be a huge storm on Thursday. It's very dangerous!"
"Where did you hear this?" asked Lil.
"It was posted at the school, ecole Hanane for all parents to see."
Another chimed in, "Yes, and it was on TV, on 2M. It's very bad. Lots of water and flooding! People should move to Marrakesh if they can!"

Lil came home and checked the internet weather report. Nothing. She told me. I checked the Morocco Times website. There was an article...

"The Moroccan meterological center has denied reports that there will be a tsunami on Thursday caused by falling fragments from meteor. On the ufology website, Mr. x claimed he received psychic information that on May 25, there would be a major tsunami affecting the Atlantic Ocean, especially the African coast north and south of the Tropic of Cancer. Morocco is one of the countries. The website said that waves 200 meters high (660 ft.) would smash into the coastlines, destroying towns and villages. However, the national meterological center says that there is no scientific evidence that the meteor will pass close enough to cause a tsunami. NASA says that it will only come within 10 million miles of the earth."

So, that's where the rumour started.
