Women's place?

I teach ESL at a private language institute. Presently, there are 3 female students in my class. The other day i asked them to write down their 'rules for school', either out of experience or if they theoretically ran a school. They came up with: "students should come to class on time, they should respect the teacher, they must wear one style of clothing."
I didn't understand "one style of clothing". I asked them what they meant.
"Uniforms."
I asked them if they thought girls were more serious students than boys. "Yes. But there are girls at the university who are not serious. They dress in shameful clothes and act in shameful ways."
These ESL students are all from small villages and have been raise in rural life. 2 of the girls are just married at age 18 and 19. Thankfully, they remain in school.
One gal, S spoke up, "I have an idea for class! Why don't we choose a topic to discuss. Can we choose 'Women in the workplace' for next time?
"That is a wonderful idea!" I exclaimed. "Let's do it! Go ahead and write something down for next class."
I'm looking forward to it.
