Women's International Karate Championship

Morocco is progressive in various ways. One way is in encouraging female sports. Every Sunday on national TV, there is a news wrapup of the week's sports. It includes events such as handball, soccer, bandminton, running, tennis, and tae-kwan-do and/or karate.
Martial arts are popular, here. I heard of one Korean man who opened a studio in Casablanca. He got plenty of clients and he was featured on Moroccan TV.

* Iranian National Women Karate Team depart for Morocco International Karate Championship. 13 March 2008

Members of the team have participated at seven stages of a preparation camp during which they have got ready for competing at the games and the team coaches are quite pleased with the current status of the team members.

The head coach of the Iranian National Women Karate Team told IRNA (Iran Republic News Assocation) Sports Desk reporter on the eve of their departure for Morocco, "Fortunately, the team is quite fit for the games thanks to having national karatekas were quite brisk."
Maryam Moshiri added, "The technical coaches of the national team are quite pleased with the current status of the team members." She added, "We hope thanks to the proper planning we had for the team at the preparation camp our champions would shine well at Morocco international contests."
Referring to the presence of strong teams from Tunisia, Italy and France at the competitions, she added, "This year's competitions are expected to be tougher than the previous years, but the Iranian team still hopes to rank high."
The teams' head coach said that Pegah Zangeneh, Samira Malekpour and Samaneh Khoshqadam are the fittest champions of the Iranian national team, with highest chances for winning gold medals.

The annual Morocco International Women's Karate Championship is one of the most reputable in its kind.
