TV Passion
Ramadan TV is supposed to be special. Moroccan Arabic programs, Hollywood and Asian cinema, comedy, jokes etc. The technical quality has improved, but the programs themselves are no better than a few years ago, when we would watch "Super Hadda" or "Lalla Fatima" (Madame Fatima) almost every day. There are still nothing like those.
Super Hadda was about a young woman who wore a suit and helped people, much like Superman. Understanding how Moroccan culture is, this was, and still is pretty progressive for a large portion of the population.
The genius of Lalla Fatima was the comedy team, a married couple in real life who directed, acted, and produced it. They were funny, shrewd, and witty. They knew how to laugh at themselves and issues which were actually serious issues. Somehow, they got away with it because it was comedy. Lalla Fatima was as good as anything I have watched in the US. Of course, it's Moroccan so you have to understand the language and culture.
Laughter is medicine for the soul.

Ouarzazate - "Passion" is the new TV serial being shot in the natural scenery of the south-central.. Moroccan towns of Ouarzazate and Zagora by Australian director Michael Offer. Written by Frank Deasy and produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), "Passion" will be screened in 2008. It delves into the past and tells the story of Jesus, highlighting the milestones of his life as well as of those surrounding him.
